Hello all!
Kinda hit the jackpot at an estate/yard sale.
Got over 500 of each of these .38/357 mag beauties. The boxes were long since degraded and illegible, so I have no idea of manufacturer (or if home cast, what mold was used).
They are 148 gr, almost no variance over a sampling of 20 each.
on left: BBWC 3 lube grooves and a crimp groove, pretty soft alloy.
on right: HBWC 2 deeper lube grooves with 4 shallower grooves(for tumble lube??) and a crimp groove, again a pretty soft alloy.

Thanks in advance for any info you can provide.
More questions to come, I promise...

Your second one is a swaged Hollow Base Wadcutter for target shooting. Several companies made them, Speer included. Try 2.7-3.5 gr. Bullseye. Keep them light loads, you can shoot all day, very accurately, and have no leading. Loaded upside down they used to be know as pancake loads. The other is also a wadcutter but could be cast as well as swaged.

.............I see a parting line on the SWC (or button nose WC) so it was no doubt cast. It's design is pretty generic as a commercially cast slug, especially with that BB. The WC does look swaged although it seems most mainline suppliers (Rem, Speer, etc) have used a flood type lube for some time. Both simply appear to me to be regular ol' target type boolits, and probably from some (maybe long gone) commercial caster. I shoot pure lead WC's out of my K38 S&W with great accuracy and no leading, using that load (2.7 BE) Wayne shows.

Great! Thanks for the replies and the info.
I have Bullseye on hand, but have really come to like HS6 in 38/357.
I'll have to try out a short run with BE.
