I just got an old european rifle in 9.3X72R and it has only BP proof marks.
I understand the Handloader Mag has some loads for it in their #24 and #149 issues. IF some kind hearted soul would scan those articles or take digi pics and send them to me I would appreciate it. PM me for the email address

Thanks
AkMike

There are 2,9.3x72R. Plain and Sauer.
Plain is a straight case, the Sauer is a bottleneck.
Both are listed in HMCC as using about 39gr BLC-2 with a 180-190 gr bullet.
May be safe with smokeless powder, but might be better to just fill the case with old stinky and smokey , at least for the first few shots.

This is the straight case. Someone else has suggested 39-43 grs of 3031 as a good loads also.
I have a copy of the #149 HL coming thanks to Deputy Al!
Does anyone have that #24???

AKMike, I have HL #24. It contains an article on loading oddball metrics, but does not include 9.3 X 72. I have almost all of the old ones and will be glad to print out anything you need.
