Went to the gunshow and and saw a sign that read remington small primers $29 for 5000. I told my wife that the sign was wrong and meant $29 a thousand. I said to the guy hey you mean $29 per thousand right? He says no per box. HUGH? You sure I asked. He says yes. Well, I am the proud owner of 30,000 remington small pistol primers for the princely sum of $184. I pinched myself to make sure it wasnt a dream. The best part I sold 10,000 to a friend for $215 and have 20,000 for myself. Thats the first time I have gone to a gun show and made money

did you ask after you paid why such a low price?

I just paid and ran, I only ask once if someone is sure the price is right. If they say yes I grab and run. I call it the Mississippi Code.

I don't know. All I can say is he took my $184, gave me 30,000 primers and let me make it out the door. You might call that a clean get away!

Did you ah...open the box yet?

How old are these primers?

Perhaps 'Chiguhr' placed a transponder in one of the cartons. Don't rely on your deadbolt.:Fire:

I bet whoever was running the table got a royal chewing when the seller found out what happened. There was definately a failure to communicate.

Very good Parrott1969. You should be set for awhile. Glad to see you get a deal like that.

Didn't you hear about the recall on Remington Small Pistol Primers. I don't remember if it was 300,000 or 30,000.:kidding:

Some vendor lost money at that gun show. I was in Las Vegas in '86 and went into a Yellowfront store for some socks and underwear. As usual I took a gander at the sporting goods and noticed they had 22 magnums. Having just bought some in Oklahoma for $4.99 a box i was surprised to see them for $1.59 a box. A check with the clerk confirmed the price, so I bought all they had, 10 boxes. Checking them on the drive home I found that the first two boxes were marked $1.59 and the rest were $4.95. By that time I was in New Mexico and, no, I didn't go back and make it right.

I have to agree with L W Knight, that fellow was running the table for someone else. And I'll bet that someone is p*****d.

The lesson learned here is good deals can be found if we spend the time to look. I myself would have walked past the table without a second glance thinking they would be way over priced. I guess this is a reminder to keep my eyes peeled.

That rarely, if ever happens to me. All I ever see at gun shows are overpriced parts and used guns priced the same as I would pay for a new one at a sporting goods store. Good for you! I am envious.

I come up with a figure of $174 for the total. You must have a grudge with you friend for gouging him that way.Robert

Your luck must be rubbing off on me. I ordered a set of dies and some .243 WSSM brass yesterday from Jeff Jones on this site...$20...can't beat that. So this morning, before I went to my lease to do some load testing, I addressed an envelope to him and planned to stop at the PO after shooting some. I got to the PO and went to the back of my Landcruiser to lock it and there, in front of me on the street, was a $20 bill. Yep, free dies and brass, all I had to do was pay the shipping!

These are new remington primers. Guy told my wife that his uncle over ordered and he was going to be very happy that he sold all the primers. I tried to explain that the price was wrong but he was certain that price was correct. As my granny used to say You can lead a horse to water but if you can not make him drink ride him till he falls down. As for my friend, He got a great deal 10000 primers for $215! If the shoe was on the other foot I would have been very happy to have paid so little.
