I must be livin' in the dark. I see Midway has Remington brass on sale. Remington 30-06 for $38.69/100 and that's$6+ off. Is this for real. Is brass really that high? Regards, Woody

Buy all you can afford because it's probably not getting any cheaper.

To my knowledge, Starline does not make bottle neck brass. Their pistol brass is first rate...

My wife is always hiking in the woods with her girl friends and always brining brass home,.

She aks me yesterday... massa-.... oops stand by whilst I get smacked in the head.

OK- better now. She asks me is this brass worth money. I said heck yes, and she says she knows where tons of it is,.

Starline doesn't make bottle neck rifle brass. If most of the people here are using it I;d sure like to know where they are getting it from. Google doesn't show ANY bottleneck rifle brass from starline. Where are you getting this info from changeling?

That's not too bad really. 40-65 brass is $58 a 100, 40-82 is $56 for 20......so the 06 stuff is cheap by comparison. Even 45-70 is $42 a 100.

Plenty of once fired brass on gunbroker.

They make a wide variety of pistol cases...some of them have bottlenecks.

I'm gonna shoot mine until they crack..... And then wait until just before hunting season and collect all of that nice once fired brass that people with more money that sense just leave laying around.. Besides, Mine gets turned into A.I. brass, anyway.

I tried asking the same question earlier, but my I phone lost signal. Like GPS coordinates, etc. Probably too far from Texas anyway.

I saw it coming enough that I have avoided magnum rifles and concentrated on cartridges that could in a pinch be made from 30-06. It also makes it easier to build customs from surplus springfields or mausers.

However I have drifted from my mandate over the years and have purchased some non standard caliber rifles. Model 71 348 win for example and God forbid a Model 95 Win in 405. I have about 250 of the 348 and 100 of the 405 and at the rate that I shoot them that should outlast me. Then there is the 22 hipower, 30-30 and 38-55 all can be made from 30-30. I long for a 25-35 also. I need to stock up on 284 win before it gets even more expensive. Someone will want to shoot that model 99 alot someday.

Stick with the standards.

.............Feeding two 577-450's, two 577 Snider's, a 43 Spanish and two 11mm Mausers has kind of put other more common brass into perspective :-) And the above was when Bertram was about the only game in town. I recall being giddy when Midway put 43 Spanish (Bertrams) on sale @ $27/20 once several years back. Almost cheap enough to simply leave on the ground!
