Google "Montana Bullet Works", they may, I don't remember for certain. I use that bullet for all my 357 Mag use, revolver and carbine, I cast my own and when sized, lubed and checked they weigh 158 gr. cast of wheel weights.
After thought; google "Rim Rock Bullets" too.

If you want to cast your own these are from the modified 45 2.1 design 358156HP mould that Bruce produces at BRP .
I like it better than the original !

It is available with or without the HP in a wide variety of cavity choices !

Jerry :

I like that modified deep square bottom lube groove on your version of the 358156 pictured, I've always believed that the old original 358156 was right on the edge of not having enough lube capacity. With that said, the old original has shot some pretty impressive groups for me in past years. Skeeter did enough testing and practical shooting with the 358156 to draw a rational conclusion as to its suitability for use in his 38 / 357 revolvers. It was his favorite bullet.

I've been using it for over 30 years in an Ideal single and an early Lyman double. Molds drop Identical bullets. I crimp in the top groove and fill the GC groove above the check, the lube groove and the lower crimp groove with lube. Have never had a suspicion of running out of lube.
Works for me.

What Jerry said. You absolutely cannot go wrong with BRP's molds.

My comment about lube isn't an effort to condemn the 358156, it just seems that when you compare the lube capacity of the 156' to the 358477 and the 358429, it just doesn't look like it has quite enough lube capacity for me.

Of course in this world, " looks " can certainly be deceiving.

Some like to put their foot prints on a proven design, this makes for new sales, not a better bullet.

I have 358156 in a single and a single hp mold

Stephen:

I have four of the original Lyman 358156 moulds myself (including the same pair you have) but still prefer the BRP version.

I couldn't disagree with you more. "Proven" designs aren't worth much when the currently produced molds have quality control issues, drop too small from the mold to be useful; or in some cases the current cherrie used looks nothing like the original design. All of these problems have been documented on this board.

We have a lot of members here that have put in quite a bit of personal time and hard work in order to bring a better product to those of us that want it. I'm grateful to have options when I want a new mold for one of my rifles or pistols.

I wouldn't knock one of these so called proven designs that has been improved by one of our resident designers and produced by BRP, NOE, etc. until you've honestly tried one.

Couldn't agree more.

One of the understated but really impressive selling points of the PB Group Buy version Matt ran a year or two ago was a re-centered and slightly enlarged lube groove, which addressed just this. I love that bullet. Shoot it MUCH more than the GC version. Pretty sure it was a 45 2.1 modification of the original design, and it wasn't about putting his footprint there. It was about basing it on something and then making the appropriate changes to enhance it to what was desired.
