I got these in a batch of misc. lead that I had purchased and wonder if anybody knew what they are. Some ingots I got in this batch of lead were marked "bullet" so I figured it is a boolit. My brother looked at it and thought the base was a softer alloy. The approximate caliber is .45. I figure it goes into a muzzle loader but I really have no idea.

If I were to speculate, yes they are two part boolits. And If I were a betting man, I'd say the bottom is HARDER then the top. They were designed like that to work on expanding boolits, so the top would probably much softer then the lower.

Maybe for a PP Sharps? (No lube groove is my reasoning there.)

That makes a lot of sense. Does anybody around here shoot them things?
