308 bolt gun loads

What powders and charge weight would work with a rem 308 bolt rifle using 311041 173 grain gas check boolits.They will chamber at .311 without the base to far down the neck.

I found 11gr of Unique under a Lee 312 180 2r. 180 gr. Boolit very accurate in my Savage Edge .308

28 grs 4895 and a filler does really well for me.
and the 16 grs 2400 start is hard to beat i went up to 19 easily.

Would work for what? Plinking, just punching holes in paper, shooting matches or hunting?

That's the question, the 308 is a very easy cartridge to load for and numerous loads work well but what do you plan on shooting and what do you expect of these loads?

In my 308's (single shot rifle and single shot XP-100 bolt) anywhere from 18 to 20 gr+ of SR 4759 with standard primer, boolit weights from 175 to 190 gr. 1800 fps to over 2000 fps. This is not a max load but it does all I need of it so I've never gone higher.

I'm just shooting paper now and tried 38 grains H-4895 and it shoots real good.I was wondering what might be better.I've loaded boolits in 45-70 and 30-30.They shoot well with low pressure and were easy to find loads for them.I was thinking 4759 would be good but have only tried 4895.I've got 5 shots to do 5/8 inch at 60 yards so I think my BRP 311014 boolits will work well in 308.I'd like to find a target load and a hunting load.

dude at 38 grs and small groups you got's your load.
i'd mess with the nose for hunting and leave all else alone for killing rocks and stuff.
