Lyman #311041 question

Is anyone using the Lyman #311041 without the gas checks in their 30-30s? If so how accurate have you been able to get them to shoot at lower velocities. I'm going thru about 5k of gas checks a year, and except for my hunting loads, I'd prefer to leave them off. I could just load some, but if someone has already tried and found them to be incredibly lousy, I rather not re-invent the wheel.

I've got the Lee 150 gr flat nose GC, shoots very lousy w/o the checks.

I've been thinking the RCBS or Saeco 150 gr plain base mould would be the ticket. Question I have is can they go 1800 fps with liveable leading?

I may have to pony up the bucks and find out for my self.

I have a group buy made without the gc cut. So, yes I do, but I cheated.
