I have a couple of Remington 700s in .308 that I would like to cast hunting bullets for.

Does anyone have any info on them? ie ... best pointed bullets, etc ...

The only data I can find is for the 30-30.

in the 700 PSS. 1 in ten twist.
Start with the 30 30 loads and increase powder charges a tad if needed.
A 30 30 will kill very well. The Ranch Dog boolits are good or most any flat point boolit will kill much better than pointy boolits in my estimation. I use the Ideal 31141 for most all my 30 caliber loads. Sized to .310 for a .308 groove.
You really do need a Lyman Cast Bullet Handbook. I have the 30 year old #3 edition. Works for me. SR4759 has become my go to powder for cast in rifles.
The most accurate load in .308 for the pointed Lyman 311334 cast is listed as 26.3 grains of SR4759 for 2,137 fps and 48,200 CUP. Max load. Lyman uses #2 alloy.
I like an alloy of 50/50 wheel weights/pure and a little tin, air cooled. Boolits at 1,600 to 2,200 kill deer just fine.

What rifle, what scope? Excellent shooting. I have only been able to do that with the Ruger #1 in .375 H&H. Usually get 1.5" groups with .30 caliber guns.

What are the dies that you all use to cast those bullets?

Pointed boolits for deer? I highly recommend the RCBS 180 Gr. FPGC. If you insist on pointy use the RCBS 180 Gr. SPGC which is a tad more accurate in my 308.

Use a standard rifle primer with anywhere from 18.5 Gr. to 20.0 Gr. SR 4759 for 1800 to 2000 fps. On a day that I can do my part my 308 will shoot 2" 200m groups. Air cooled CWW with 2% tin which is 12 BHN and in the "low" end of medium hard alloy.
