I just unboxed my new Savage Edge in 308 win. Got the black scope package rifle for $330.00. First 30 cal rifle in 25yrs. Now post your favorite 308 win cast load so I can reduce the guess work. Thanks Kyle.

Took the new rifle apart to inspect. This thing has a tight chamber. Had to set the shoulders back. Hair to get the brass to chamber. It has 6 lands 1/10 rh twist. 304/307 bore/groove. Should have some lead down range today.

Will that larger than normal land dia. be an advantage or not? Will it take a Lovern

design to shoot well?

Is that larger than normal?

Went back and looked at slug.
Noob mistake , I used a WW boolit not pure to slug. Changed original figures to reflect correct pure readings.

.308" x .300" is new spec on a U.S. 30 caliber.
Six land slugs are hard to measure. Same as a three grove. Therein lies the tale.

Thats what I thought? Maybe they went with more/shallow lands?
I have a 312 185gr lee mold that the bore riding area is .302 and it barely slides in with slight finger pressure

Did you mean 311299 instead of 311499?

Couldn't find any reference to 311499, unless it was a special list.
