2. cyl. slugged out at 428.5
3. luber/sizer throws em out at .429

It should by all rights work just great.
You are lucky because you can ust the ever pervasive .429 molds
.430s are harder to get.
Have fun.

.............Sounds like perfection to me. Apparently I was lucky with my first model Vaquero with a bbl groove of .451" and a cyl mouth of .451". Would have been better with a .452" cylinder, but at least it wasn't .449" which I've heard of.

Depends on what bullets you are going to shoot. If you are shooting bullets that have a front drive band that pushes out into the cylinder throats then you had better get yourself a die made to the cylinder throat dimensions other wise you will have to seat the bullets past the crimp groove for them to fit in the cylinder. If your bullets front drive band doesn't reach out into the cylinder throats then a larger bullet is better in my experiences.

A note with the star die is if you have one smaller you can always hone it out to a larger diameter. Too large of a die and you are screwed.

I agree, depending on the bullet design, a 0.430" bullet may NOT fit into the chambers.

This confused me for a long time as most of my molds had a nose long enough that if crimped in the CG nose has to be sized to fit in the cyl "throat" So in srg's case he would go with a .428. Then it depends on the alloy as some will size to die I.D. and some will end up larger.
Many claim that with the Star you want the boolit to be sized down .001 or you will not get a good enough lube seal between boolit and die and will get leakage. Using softer lube and too much reservoir pressure this is very true. I have lubed boolits .001 smaller than the die with my Stare but I use a medium stiff lube and watch the res. pressure carefully to not get "blow by" and have lube on the noses. Does this help. ;)
