View Full Version : I wonder if this would alter the ballistics...

While carefully measuring powder in 20 brass for more testers for my 7.62x39mm 160gr Lee TL mould, I began to notice a few itty bitty flying/walking bugs coming in around my window. Dagnabbit. More and more were wriggling in, so I grabbed the Raid (tm), can, went outside and hosed my window frame. Thousands of the little beggars out there...all dead now. Insert evil laugh here.
Hey, is there a point to this rambling bugicidal rant? Yep.
See, I left the filled cases sitting while zapping the invaders. When I came back, I checked powder and loaded boolits. But, there is a slight possability one of the little itty bitty things crawled down inside a case. Bugs can survive a long time with limited air/food...but that sudden violent explosion is likely to be a little on the fatal side.

Ya think that will alter the ballistics much?:veryconfu:bigsmyl2:

Me thinks , not.

Maybe I could load some of those brown june bugs in 30-30 with primer only and use then for cat scat bullets.

It'd be a good excuse for unexplained "flyers".

No - they will still probably buzz around in no seemingly pattern that makes sence!:kidding:

I can tell you this -- the last thing to go through his mind will be.... his butt-hole :-)

It wont be a problem. I once had an ant crawl up to the lip of a .308 case when I was loading out on the picnic table. He had the honor of being the first ant to pass the sound barrier before he passed away. LOL

FWIT I had a .45 ACP round that didn't fire. The primer appeared to be a dud. When I broke the round down I found a deceased lady bug in the case. Don't know if it was a coincidence or not.

ballistics of the bullet or the ballistics of the bugs. My guess would be bullet ballistics will remain the same / bugs ballistics will increase at first but them due to catastrophic failure of the bugs fuselage drop off the charts

Real bugolit drop, then, eh?
