Does anyone have a really good spec sheet for loading .270 to use plain base lead bullets at target velocities? Would like suggestions on bullet mould as well.

Green Frog,

I use gaschecked boolits and I have never used a plain base boolit...

I will wait until I see if others chirp in on the plain base question before I give a bit of info on the checked boolits...

Good-luck...BCB

Does any of the mold makers make a PB 270 mold?

I shot cast in a 270 but not a PB boolit.

Below are a couple of targets fired on from 100 yards.

I've got a Lyman 280411 and a Cramer B2 that are plain based. Just a little out of production, though.

The only .277 boolits still in production are the RCBS 270-150 SP and Saeco 270 TC. Either are fantastic choices. There are several discontinued choices out there as well that will serve you well.

As far as load data goes, you would be good to find an older Lyman cast boolit handbook or load manual. I believe the RCBS Cast Bullet Handbook also had some .270 data.

I have been looking at lbt molds in 270. My requirements are a little different than yours are however as I'll be casting for a 6.8 SPC. They do have lots of different weights and profiles. I'm planning on a 110gr SP but in a full 270 you can go heavier.
