..............As was posted apparently Hornady has discontinued the 338 GC's. I'd also heard rumors of others. I see in the new Graf & Son catalog that GC's for the 6mm/243 and the 270 are missing?

Rick, If true, Hornady's decision to drop some GC sizes opens up the possibility of more group buys...of PB molds in the discontinued sizes, naturally.

MidSouth was closing out the .243 gaschecks a couple of months ago and earlier I had heard the rumor the .243 size was being discontinued.

I bought 3 boxes of gaschecks as my 700 classic likes the RCBS 98 grain slug. Can't shoot jacketed ammo all the time.

MidSouth may still have those gaschecks on closeout. It's worth a look.

I think I bought the last of the Midway stuff awhile back in .243. I was just placing an order & when I saw the price of Hornady checks...wow...Shoulda gotten in on the Felix check buy! Just too many mould buys then and too much month at the end of the money.
I do wonder though if the Lyman checks will be OK in relatively straight wall cases like the .44 & .444. I know they come off in flight & all & that can't be great news for those interested in tack-driving accuracy but at 10-bucks cheaper by the 1000 it might be worth it. I used them before in my early days of shooting cast & they were OK but only shot plinker loads back then like they show in the Lyman Cast Bullet book.

MidSouth may have gotten more .243 gaschecks in as the "yardsale" section says they are in stock.

Or....there's a glitch in the ordering system and it thinks there's still some in stock.

Delightful. I'm sure this won't be the last such deletions from the line that Hornady makes. After all, they need that gilding metal for their nice new STATE OF THE ART ultra-soft-point levergun bullets. Farking ridiculous.

Gator Checks, here I come.

Lock Stock & Barrel has these in stock according to their web site. I've never bought from them but the prices look about like everyone else's.

T&T Reloading has the .270 and .338 listed on their website, but no 6MM/.243 listed...Ray

I think I would call Hornady and ask them about it. They still show them available for order on their web site....
