Ok... Broke the sprue cutter handle on my Lee six cavity... I know, the melt/mold were just a little too cold and I waited just a little too long to cut the sprue... [smilie=b: Anyone know of a source for a new sprue cutter (not the plate)?

send it back to lee, if it is less than 2 years old, it will probably be free. if not, it will not be terribly expensive.

And even if it's more than two years old just call them and tell them you broke your sprue cutter handle. They'll just send you another one, at least they did to me!

Don't send it back, it would cost more in shipping than the part would cost. Call Lee and they will make good on it. It's a common break.

Like negligent discharges, if you have not broken the sprue cutter handle on a 6 cavity mold yet, you will.
Luckily I have enough handles to just trade out.

On the wood part, I turn them down a bit and slip a piece of PVC pipe over it and glue it into place.

I haven't broken one but ordered two metal sprue levers from Lee for 13.20 shipped -

Gotta admit, it's not my first... I'm working with my third and final one, kinda gettin tired of swapping handles around.

Sounds like a plan, think I'll order a couple extra... All of my current molds are more than two years old.

Yep.

Midway now sells most Lee spare parts (except .223 Decapping rods.)

Another reason to cast one hole only then add a hole every 2-3 pours.
