I found that when casting with my brand new, shiny, not a mark on it Noe mould with my LEE 4-20 drip-o matic that there was alot of drag from the small shelf they provide as a mould guide . After treating my mould with sprue plate lube I just wiped the rest down with the already damp Q-tip and the difference is like night and day, the mould slides great with no more drag! I realise that I am likely the last person to have found this trick , But there is a chance it may make someones life a little slicker !

I have two RCBS 22 lb pots and the mould rest is a horizontal rod. It TOO drags on the mould. I started using lube (Bullshop's is definitely superior in this too) on the rod and the bottom of the mould. It DOES make a serious difference allowing a person to accurately line up the mould sprue holes under the spout without the "herky-jerky" movements.

I'm pleased that you shared the "trick" - it should reduce the cussing trying to line up one of the 6 holers.

Dale53. A simple roller system I did on my RCBS pot guide rod was to put a 2 1/2" long by 3/8" dia piece of stainless pipe between the stop sets already on the rod, works great and no sticking of lead.Robert

For god sake if you mixed "Cough Syrup, Laxative, Hair Restorer" you could potentially have, at the very least, a "B" grade science fiction movie. Of course, you would be dissolved in the plot.

Now understand that most of my lady friends are in thier 50's and one well beyond. Opportunities to make hay are not abundant but the possibilities exist.

Now seeing that I have a goodly supply of Bullshop's Bullplate Spue Plate Lube handy right there next to the living room couch on the reloading bench.....I wonder???.............
