Going to whip up a batch of conical bullets for the BP Army.

What are your thoughts on which alloy (BHN) to go with? Interested to hear what the hoi polloi have to say....

Soft.

You don't want to put too much stress on the loading lever.

Too hard of a alloy will lead like crazy.

You are also using a HB bullet which needs soft to work well.

Ended up putting together some 40:1 alloy which ended up at 6 BHN. Boolits look like they are dchromed at .4535.

Now for a little SPG at .452 and we are off to the races.

Thanks, gents.

I use pure lead for my conicals.

( I suppose I should say soft lead, because it came from the scrap yard, and what the purity really is I have no clue.)
