I sat down to cast up 15lbs of 22-55 RCBS boolits the other day...........I gave up about 4lbs into that venture.

Yours may be bigger than mine but what I lack in bore and stroke I more than make up for in RPM.[smilie=l:

There are 7000 grs. in a pound. Divide the cast weight of your bullet from that and you will see the amount you should obtain per pound

Ok, could not resist the smart comment so here it is.

One pound of lead = One pound of boolits.

Like said before, not enough.

I have hunted sage rats with a 338 WM, but these bad boys are intended for some wild hogs at close range. Daddy always said to always use enough gun.

Close... It's for an Encore with a fully rifled 20 ga. barrel.

Neat, are you using brass hulls or plastic? How are you keeping the bullet in the hull?

at a north south skrimish years ago they were shooting cannons and one of the groups I was at said that each cannon round was 12 pounds of lead. Now that would be a nice dig out of the sand bank.

Plastic hulls for now as they give early pressure signs, but will eventually switch to brass. I have a 20 ga. roll crimper for the plastic hulls, but the lubed slugs are a push fit into 3" Fiocchi hulls.
