pathfinder, I used to work out of Milford (to Cooperstown) on the Cooperstown & Charlotte Valley RR. (See my avatar.) However, it was a 2 hr. drive from Kingston just to get to Milford. Hope you are successful in this endeavor!

Wow that is a long drive. I drive 1000's of miles a week for my job. So I can definately feel your pain. I go as far east as Vermont 3 or 4 times a month North Adams Mass once a month. And I go as far west as Binghamton about 6 to 8 times a month. Its cool you worked on the Cooperstown Railroad. My mother in law volunteers and is very involved on the train once a week. Anyway thanks for posting.

Ah, now I know where you are.

I am in the Rochester area, but my son played tournaments in Cooperstown and went to college at Hamilton.

Hamilton is a beautiful campus. I work at the hospital there sometimes. Your son most likely played at the Dreams Park Tournaments. Were you able to get to the Otasaga Hotel for dinner or lunch while you were here? If not I highly recomend it. The veranda over looking the lake is beautiful this time of year.

Correct on both counts, and it is a wonderful area. Most out of staters don't realize that upstate NY is a different world from the city.

Upstate is where Hillary lives. Northern, Central, Western NY and the Adirondack region make up the part of the State best viewed as "fly over" country.

I loved the communities and people in Upstate NY (Watertown area) when I was assigned there with the Army. If it wasn't for the fact that Upstate NY has to deal with the headaches and inane laws from the NYC area it would be a beautiful state.

A Cast Boolits NY sub-group would be neat I think.

No I pretty much shoot on my property or at the local range here. I was going to be in Buffalo this weekend for an instrumentation fair but nobody wants to give up their weekend.
