Has anyone tried Trail Boss in, say, the .50-70 with 350 or 450 grain bullets?
What success, and what charge weights? Other comments?
Thanks;

I tried it briefly in 45-70. I stuck to published data and I got 1100 fps pushing a 405 bullet. Accruracy wasn't bad but I am getting just as good of accuracy and 1250fps from FFg black. In 30-30 I got good accuracy and it isn't positional at all. I think that it would really shine in 38-55, but the Ballard I test loads in is currently in the middle of some B/P tests with PP and won't be free till September.

Whose published data did you use, and where can I find it?
Thanks;

Thank you. The pressure data is particularly useful, because I wanted to know whether Trail Boss might be suitable for the .50-70 in an original RB rifle - it appears that the pressures are already as high as I would care to go, with the fairly low charges and velocities listed. Appreciate your help.
