View Full Version : Perfection and Disappointments

I am here to clarify some things, this forum exists not to disappoint anyone,, but it will happen here and in life on occasion, that is fact. If you find perfection in anything it will be in your best interest to enjoy it immensely while it lasts.. however fleeting that may be.
The rules set out above are meant to cover some issues, but no matter how sleek or comprehensive the list of rules may be it will never suit everybody or sometimes not anyone, thats life, accept it.

Regarding the contentious issue of "I'll take it" vs a pm between a buyer/seller I will defer always to the sellers point. Thats it, take it or leave it but this forum will not be forcing the issue either way.

Thats not perfect, thats probably disappointing to someone or many, but expecting everything to be handled by rules and firm policies is in my opinion,, unreasonable as well.

If you get exactly with all the stars and planets in alignment,, you may still be disappointed when someone else had their karma or timing just a hair better.. it happens to the best of us and the worst of us alike.

God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.

To quote a friend "if everything is going smoothly you have obviously overlooked something!"

Thanks for a great site!

I don't expect perfection. If something goes wrong here it's hardly the board's fault.

Look what happened to the last guy who was perfect; they crucified him!

Sounds like the talk I had with my principal in Junior High, don't most normal adults just deal with life and move on? Thanks for offering the buying, trading, selling forum it is a good thing! But of course I don't hear the wailing and gnashing of teeth either.

Ditto!

If it wasn't for this place, I would never have gotten off the ground casting- informational or equipment ways.

I haven't posted in quite a while. I got tired of thread bashing and comments by a few experts that know everything and comment just to get their post count up. However, that is my problem if it bothers me that much. This is the best forum on the internet for bullet casting and all the little things involved in its persuit. I think it is new comers to casting that helps the experienced individuals to keep coming back. God gave us all 2 hands, one is for helping yourself and the other is for helping someone else. Everyone here has something to share. In the words of the infamous Rodney King .... "Why can't we all get along?". Ken, thanks for the work you do to help us all. Thanks also for quoting the serenity prayer.

I wanted to say something profound but I dont have the natural talent or ability to come up with anything. This is a good place for info sell share ideals and get some feedback not always what you want to hear but thats life. And as far as the swapping and selling section from experenice if family will screw you somebody else out there will to but most here are a cut above.

I buy and sell here quite a bit and things usually go off without a hitch. When there have been problems it has usually been my mistake in thinking that everyone does things the same way I do.

I wouldn't have been able to figure out what I needed to start casting if it wasn't for this site, it is awsome! Ken this is the best place I go, physically and on the net. Thank You. As for the issues of swappin n sellin, If you need absolute rules go to ebay or just order from the major suppliers. We are all shooters and sportsmen here which I find to be the most honorable people out there. If I miss out on something because someone didn't post an I'll take it big deal, it wasn't meant to be. Lets not get wrapped around the axle and turn this into an uptight forum like you see else where. I have learned way more on this site then any books could ever teach.

I've purchased many things here and (knock on wood) never had a single hitch. I don't know any other place I would shell out a hundred or more dollars for an item to a perfect stranger with no insurance except honor. I deal only with members with good reputation and history and hash the deal out clearly before sealing it. Both parties in a transaction should make their expectations clear and leave no ***-umptions. blah blah. And if a future deal goes wrong, it won't be the end of the world!

Two thoughts,

Ignorance is fixable by education, Stupid just goes on forever!!!

Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change.
Courage to change the things I can,
And the wisdom to hide the remains of those who REALLY PISS ME OFF!!!

If you find perfection , it's because you died and have been resurrected.., if you find imperfection , welcome to my world , good but not great . So i deal with whatever life deals out.. I dont waste my time getting angry because others and i, am imperfect.. That being said if you dont get it , try again .. P/s cast boolits and shooting is my getaway from the stresses of life, better than most, near perfect, but falls just short.

Well I for one am happy in the fact that I am perfect. Once I thought I was wrong but when I chekced up on it, it was a mistake.

That said, I got my post count up by one more just now.!

Thanks for the good sight. I love auctions. I notice in your rules you say they are OK for the swapping and selling but I could not find any. How do you set them up, just describe item and starting bid and end date? Thanks again, Fom

Ken --

Great post! Personally I LOVE the fighting that goes on sometimes in swapping and selling.

I find it comical when I see a couple of 50+ males acting like spoiled 5 year olds. It's a great stress reliever for me.

Hey Fomdiddle,

Just put your item up for sale and state it's an auction, the ending time, and what you want it to start bidding at. Simple as that!

I'm certain Ken will correct me if I'm wrong.................<grin>

What ??? ya mean I had a chance to get upset when Blammers PM beat my " I'll take it " ?? Must be somethin' wrong with me 'cause I was happy for him instead [smilie=l: Since it's the sellers to sell I guess I'd support him too , sounds like a good way to do it .

I'm real happy with the quality of guys I've met here . One super great guy trusted me enough that he sent the mold before the Money order got to him . I for one am amazed but very pleased to be known with such company .

I must say that in the last 6 months or so, I have bought a couple dozen items on this forum. Virtually every person I have met has been nothing but stand-up folks! It is a privilege to be part of such a group.
My best to all,
Bob

I also really appreciate this forum and the moderators, with that said, I read here all the time, and do not say much, to quote someone from above, there are a lot of experts, some who are, and others who think they are. Been casting for going on 30 years, and I do not know much, but I do know, sometimes there are more than one way to do things...............

bump ,, to reassure everyone this is not meant to tinkle in anyone's cheerios but just state facts that even though you may miss a few items.. the traffic here usually put's things stuff for sale you didn't even know you needed.

I agree with BW Brown. I to have made quite a few purchases on this forum and all have worked out well. I even bought some things that I didn't know I needed until I saw them for sale. Also bought several things and them sent them to friends who I knew could use them. I bought a couple of items from 218 bee and he sent them before I even had the payment in the mail, can't say enough about how nice it was to deal with him. Sure have enjoyed my time on this forum. I read a lot and post little because of the arthritis and essential tremors in my hands, but I sure enjoy the forum. I feel like some of the members are friends, because I have read so many of their posts, but have never had any contact with them

Never had a problem on this board. Don't even trade on some others. Now if I could just figure out how to sell more than I buy I'd be okay.

But I want it perfect!!! Right now, not later!!! Make it perfect!!! I don't understand why everybody simply cannot see things the way they are supposed to be seen...from my perspective, from my point of view. The word revolves around me, doesn't it? If I'm not happy, then nobody should be happy

This is a great site. Some deals will go sour and it stinks when it happens to be you. But, one bad deal does not cancel the 100's of good deals that happen every day. One idiot with a gun shoots up a school and suddenly everyone law abiding person with a gun is viewed as a gun crazed criminal. IE. more gun control. We do not need more controls placed on this site, it works great as it stands.

Hi folks. This is my first post however, I have been on this site since 2009. I can not begin to say all that I have learned from the folks here. Thanks. I have bought a couple of things and traded some stuff. All went off perfectly. I sent a money order or a box and in return I received brass or bullets that I needed in a timely manner. The folks I have dealt with have been very fair and I am very grateful for the quality and honor of the folks here. I even had help for my first trade from several folks giving me advice. And it went off very well. It gave me the confidence to do a couple more. My world is simple, people give their word and live up to it then all is perfect. And that is what I have found here. Honorable people!! Thank you all.
