I just recieved this mold but haven't used it yet, has anyone used it in a 45-70?
Comments?
I think before I cast any of these up I want to tweak the mold as recommended here.

Recipe shot at 1000 yds in a 34" barrel of a 45-70. The bullet is accurate:
Lee 457-500-3R 482gr 534BC 1:20 Starline CCI Br2 primer Swiss 1.5 75gr Wax Paper Wad 2.9COL 1285 fps 157 MOA with a 100yd base line of Zero MOA

I bought that mold to use in my M1888 trapdoor and performed all the usual "Leementing" tricks. Bullets cast right at .459 with a 30:1 alloy which is too small for the trapdoor. I lapped it out to .4615 and it now casts beautiful bullets at about .461-.462. BUT it still does not shoot worth a darn in any of my 45-70's (trapdoor, rolling block and Sharps). I've tried numerous load configurations but to no avail. Best bullet in my 45-70's is the Lyman 457125 beagled to .462. I tried and failed but it's only a 20 buck mold.

John Boy, thanks for the info, I have everything except Br2 primers, time to try these.
