This is a bullet I had Tom Myers draw for me. I designed it for cowboy action shooting. I am going to have Lee make it. They say they can deliver in two months. I am posting it here just in case anyone else out there would want one, and wants to share in the setup costs. I will place the order in about two weeks, so let me know soon if you are interested. Lee has increased the setup fee to $150. So I am going to say $90 a mold shipped.

I am sure that is what Lee said and that they said they are now keeping up. However, who knows? Yep, I was in on several of those year plus, a couple of which I honchoed and also the infamous 75 grain wadcutter.

This order has gone into Lee. I ordered one extra so first come, first serve on that one. Once that one is spoken for, this one is closed.

I am very interested to see how these come out and how they shoot from a marlin.
I nearly put my hand up for one.

FWIW, I have a Lyman 429105, which is similar to this design except lighter (lacking the crimp groove and corresponding length for it) and also completely rounded on the nose, lacking a flat area. It weighs 133-134 grains.
It is similar but not the same, so I don't know if this will be of any use or not:
I think I have read on here that people haven't had much luck with the 429105, but I got lucky this time and it has done OK for me so far. I have used it in a .44 Special handgun and .44 Magnum rifle (both Rugers), sized to .431, which it just makes.
In the 44 Spl (5.5" barrel), 5.0 grains of Win 231 shoots just under 700 fps and groups well.
In the 44 Mag rifle, 6.0 grains of TiteGroup runs 1193 fps and goes a little under 2" at 50 yards. Last time, it put four of five into 13/16" at 50 yards. That is really good for this rifle.
I thought it might be a nice bullet to use if and when my daughters start shooting. There is little noise and recoil in the revolver, and the big holes in the target might be encouraging if they cut the higher scoring ring.

Would you be able to send me a few samples of those bullets? I have seen that mold in the books and always wanted one. If you want to sell, let me know. Anyway, after examining the bullets, if I like them, I may do a group buy on them.

These molds arrived today and look good. I cringe to have to say this, but I am leaving on a two week holiday tomorrow and will not be able to test them till I get back. I am so sorry but there is no other way. I will test them and if in spec, send them out asap when I return. That will be the first few days of August.

I cast with one a randomly selected mold and everything is great! Diameter was .431-432 and weight was 157 lubed with straight wheel weights. The mold works really well and casts great. This is the best Lee custom mold I have had I think it is fair to say. I will be sending them out tomorrow to those who ordered one.

I sure would like to buy a hundred of your bullets to play with (or trade for some you might use) ! :)

Thanks for the heads up on my typo. I have edited it to the correct number.
If you are referring to wanting 44 cal bullets and not the typoed 45 cal, I certainly will send some to you. PM me.
PM to you about the .44 cal bullets ! They should be great in .44 Special with Bullseye !
Jerry
