My Dad died on Memorial Day 1960. I was 18 years old at the time of his death. He was a member of the 3rd Ohio
Machine gun Battalion, 42nd Infantry Division (Rainbow) in WW1. Even though he
has been dead for 60 years, I still miss him and think of him daily. He started me in shooting 62 years ago, when I was 6 years old. We shot at targets with a Stevens 053 single shot rifle in .22 WRF caliber. He was a great father and a true marksman.

Um Doug,
I was born in 60 and I will be 50 the first day of Oct. dont hurry me to 60!
My Dad was in WW2 in the navy. After he was out he could find no work so he joined the army. When the air force broke off and became an autonomous org he went with them and attended medic school and was part of the Air Sea Rescue in the Korean War. Dad bought me a BB gun when I was 5. He bought a better one later that would whack pigeons off the barn. I lost my right eye at age 8 and he taught me to shoot lefty. A Benjamen .22 air rifle came later and killed many rabbits. We were very close and I miss him. He taught me respect of our country and those who served it.
