Have any of you used those NCStar Speed loaders which take stripper clips? Is there any thing better to speed up loading the mags?

Lula has a speed loader tool for your mags, but really, how much easier does it get than to just mash the cartidge down until it clicks in. But, just in case you want to take a look at the Lula.

I've used them for AR mags, and found the stripper clips and stripper clip tool to be much faster.

I like your new tools, have you thought about putting a side rail mount on one for a scope? Lot's more fun.

I'm actually thinking of putting a top rail on, which you remove the rear sight, and it screws into the top tang screw . . . like this: http://store.carolinashooterssupply.com/servlet/-strse-336/Saiga-rifle-AK47-Beryl/Detail them maybe either a Trijjikon Acog, or one of their reflex sights. Still got to get use to it!

Just noticed this morning how long it took to load up 30 rounds in a mag! Does it hurt anything to leave the mags loaded?

I've got a stack of 30 round mags that have been loaded for a couple months now, they shoot just fine when i grab one. I have to ask, and I mean no offense at all, but are you sure you're loading the magazines the right way? The reason i ask is you say it took a long time to load one. You know you just lay the cartridge on top of the follower and push it straight down right? You don't load them like you do a pistol magazine. Here's a short video, using stripper clips and the commie mag tool.

Same principle just load one round at a time without the stripper clips and tool.

I only have a handfull of mags that arent shoved full of ammo. Some have been loaded for more than a year.

I am been thinkin about getting an AK style carbine in 5.45x39 base just on the price of surplus ammo. I have AR's that a very accurate but nothing to just go out and blast a bunch of rounds out of.

Yeah Trey, but . . . I don't have any stripper clips to load the mags . . . so it is one at a time with the thumb . . . I'll keep a few loaded then!
