Hi,
I was just wondering, could a .44 mag Ruger Super Redhawk be bored to 445 super mag??? I'm not sure but it should only be about another 1/8 inch length for the brass. Whether there would be enough room left for the bullet not to stick out of the frame I don't know. I have seen people reem out S&W M 10 to .357 mag. Thanks

No,the cylinder is not long enough to handle the 1.6" case + the bullet .

I believe Ruger also came out with their super high strength stainless when they made the 454 & 480. I don't think the 44 mag SRH is the same stainless. Could be wrong.

Thanks Fellas,
I'm not trying to do anything dangerous here just had a thought and knew there would be people here with the answers. I'm sort of keeping my eye out for a Dan Wesson, that would be a better solution anyway. I have an NEI SSK style 333 gr. GC bullet I'd like to push a little harder than the 44 mag can do! Thanks!

I see DW 445 on gunsamerica all the time for $ 800+
DW are good revolvers I have a 375 SM and 7414 SM.
TC custom makes a TC Contender barrel 15" 445 SM- for $240 with a 8-12 week wait,I have 1 on order and I am still waiting on mine.

The hard to find "long frame" Blackhawk would also be a candidate for a .445.....

There was a nice long frame 10" .357 Maximum Blackhawk that went for $500 last week at GB....

FWIW,

Dennis

(It would've been mine if I'd had the dinero...:( )

Thanks Gentleman,
I didn't know about the Blackhawk. I do have a Contender and maybe I can sell a couple of barrels I'm not using and get the 445 SM!
