My motive in writing this post is to help those newer to reloading, who may not be familiar with Starline Brass, and those maybe not so new who have never found out that Starline has very reasonable prices. Now, I am in no way affiliated with starline, but I am constantly amazed at what people can sell used, mixed headstamp brass for on the swappin forum; considering that it can be had brand new from starline, usually for less money. Starline has a very good reputation for quality and from what I have seen, those who have used it would prefer it even if it wasn't cheaper. The only catch is that you have to buy a minimum of 500 cases.

The exception is military and LE calibers such as 40 S&W, 9mm, 223, etc. These calibers are always cheaper used, just because there is so much of it floating around out there.

So go to Starlinebrass.com and check out their prices. And remember, their prices INCLUDE shipping.

I've used them several times. I agree with all that has been said above, but they don't have everything.

I bought my first batch of 45-70 brass from them 250 pieces and will soon buy another 250. The prices direct from them are really better good.

Top quality brass, good prices.

Just as a side note. They are a company founded by the son of one of the owners of
Sierra bullets, and their factory is next door to Sierra's factory in Sedalia.

Just about all the pistol brass I have here is Starline. Good stuff. Always my first choice when I need pistol brass.

Starline has always been 1st quality. I would prefer their over most other brands, and it's made right here in Missouri.

Most of my 45-70 brass started out as new Starline.

Now it's got a couple firings on it.

Good morning
I Generally order from them also.... good products and GREAT prices compared to the scalpers.
But off and on situations arise when I NEED some brass of a particular caliber NOW or I do not NEED 500 pieces for an odd caliber ... so with some shopping about and Very helpful members here I stay shooting.

I ordered 500 10mm from them direct about 2 months ago. It came in sooner than expected, even with the back-order flag on it.

Very reasonable prices.

Many say, that if you own a 10mm, you had best be prepared to be a handloader. Starline took a lot of the bite out the situation for me. 10mm factory ammo is scarce and expensive around here.

The only thing that I don't like about Starline is they don't have enough space in them for powder (I can load 80+ grains of black in a 45/70 WW, but only 75 grains in a Starline). If it wasn't for Starline, HEAPS of good old calibers would not be getting shot. How many CAS shooters are using Starline? Who else is making 38/40? All those other cowboy cartridges like 44 Colt, 44 Russian, who else makes them?

There is not enough room for me to print all the accolades for the Starline brass company. I will first give a big +1 on the post by Southern Son. This company is the only one that has helped the cowboy action shooters with making the old obsolete calibers and while doing it they are very fair priced and don't rape the consumer. The big plus is that Starline is the strongest built case being made such as in 44-40, my caliber. I have the other brass and they are so easy to bend or split.

I agree with Southern Son about the capacity of Starline's .45-70 brass; I reckon that's because they make their brass as strong as possible. This creates an additional problem for the BPCR shooter - their brass is so strong that (real) black powder normally doesn't create enough pressure to cause the brass to obturate fully and seal the chamber at the neck. Starline recommends annealing their brass before loading to resolve this issue.

I now anneal my Starline .45-70 brass before the initial loading and after each subsequent firing.
