With the costs of gaschecks going to the moon, why not just hone out the gascheck shank for a plain base boolit, say on a LEE mold for instance?

I've got a .30 cal mold that has an undersized gascheck shank anyways. Heck they're cheap enough molds. I'm thinking this would be a good way to go checkless.. :drinks:

I have a group buy with a plain base 30 cal boolit and you are in it.

NO STEENKIN GAS CHECK! :)

The lee 150 fp that I opened up weighs in at 155 and shoots fine at around 1500 fps. It also does better with paper patches than my gas check mold without the check. I used an exacto knife and wound up with a little bit of a flare that the sizer takes care of with no trouble. just an oversize bottom driving band.
