I just wanted to say thanks a million for helping me through my CZ 75's issues with cast boolits. Several suggestions were made and they all came together for me today.

A fatter boolit was needed to engage the rifling. The Lee 125-357-RF mold sized to .358 (drops at .362) works great. The previous .355 boolits were too skinny and caused keyholes.

Chambering issues prevented me from using it for a while until someone pointed out I can go all the way down to 1.01OAL provided I reduce powder charge to minimum levels.

So today I got a chance to test drive these suckers and I was hitting a 12" square of steel at 75 yards without any fliers. An old timer at the table next to me commented on how good a shot I was, but I can't take credit...the gun was simply shooting like a laser. After 100 rounds I pulled the barrel and discovered minor leading that was easily removable with a bronze brush.

So thank you guys very much, my CZ has come back to life!:Fire::drinks:

Good report, Chris.

Thanks for coming back. Remember, there are probably several lurkers out there that will
learn from your results, so the knowledge is spread wider.

The 9mm Luger is a continuing headache due to the need for .357 to .358 boolits and
this info is not getting out. I'd say 75% of my friends with 9mms complained about
'tumbling' and keyholing when they started with commercial cast .355 or .356 boolits.

I'm one of those "lurkers" whom you have helped[smilie=w:! I just bought a CZ75B last month and purchased a 125RN Lee mold. I was wondering whether I should size them or shoot them as cast?? I do have a .358 lube sizing die that will be put to use. Thanks!

So now we need to know what velocities your getting with that 125RF in the shorter OAL your using.

If you can post a photo of a loaded round. I don't think 1.010 is to short but I still might consider a little "leade" work some time in the future if the power level couldn't be achieved with the short seating length.

I guess it depends on how fat they drop out of the mold. Like I said mine are coming out at .362 with wheelweights and I had to buy a Lee 358 sizing die.

Here's the finished product. Note how deep the boolit is seated. The ones I use in my HiPoint carbine have most of the first band showing at 1.07OAL.

.............If I knew the one I bought would drop that fat I'd buy one in a skinny minute for my 38 S&W! :-)

My reloads for my CZ-75b are @ 1.023-1.027 =OAL

I lube that last groove also and it's barely visible.

I'm just using what I had on hand, Bullseye and Unique. Had some w231 and Universal a few months ago but ran out trying to experiment with the right formula.
