A while back I bought a bunch of stuff from an older gent that was getting out of reloading. Among the stuff were the following 2 cavity molds:

Lee 456 220
Lee 90314

Is the 456-220 usefull for a .44 mag? If not, what would be it's use?

How about the 90314, what would that be useful for?

Busy day today, so too lazy to search here. Trying to decide what to do with them.

Thanks.

It's for the 45 Colt or 45 ACP. A little too big to be sized down to .430 without messing up the boolits.

The Lee456-220 is a BP bullet mold; 44 Ruger Old Army 456-220-1R

As for the Lee 90314.............Lee Precision does not have it as a cataloged mold at the current time.

Lee item 90314 is not a mold. This is case length gauge/holder for 7mm WSM.

Thanks for the help.

The 90314 appears to be a .38 wad cutter design. I took some calipers and it measures ~.359. Have to cast some up and weigh/measure what comes out of the mold to be sure.

The mold looks like 358-148-WC (Lee 90312) at the page.

I agree. As you can see, the number on the mold is pretty clear. I wonder if it is a variation of the 90312 or maybe something that was custom ordered a little different. Does Lee even do that?

That mold needs a good cleaning before it will cast anything the way it was made to do otherwise it looks allright....steg

Lee seems to discontinue items and recycle the numbers at will.
