Are you down off your casting high yet. Great pic by the way.

Now you will have to shoot them all away so you can get "that special feeling" again.

You've got the touch cutting the sprue - I don't see any craters on the bases. Nice lookin boolits! Makes me want to grab some and run them through the lube sizer.

To answer a few questions. The alloy is range lead I purchased here from Tom O. a few years ago. The bullets test 13 BHN. I cast them using 2 each 4 cavity Lyman 429421 moulds and one Ballisti Cast #1101 mould. The pot is a bottom pour Magma 40 pound with the double orifice. I tried to cast at 725 but the bullets weren't filling out properly so I finally settled on 800 degrees. I used the moulds in rotation casting appox. 16 bullets per minute or just shy of 1000 per hour. I would fill & dump the three moulds and return sprues to pot. Nothing special here, just repeat, repeat, repeat.

Concerning the bullet bases. I use a swinging sprue cutter with the stop turned down enough the distance between the sprue cutter & mould is even along it's length with the hold down screw loose enough the cutter will swing under it's own weight. BTW I use nothing in the cavities, no smoke, pencil lead, nothing. I'm a firm believer if the bullets don't release, the mould goes back.

Thanks for the good words. BTW my camera is a very old HP. Not sure of the of the pixel rating but the pictures coming from the camera are 640X480 of which the camera will only hold 92. If I use the highest resolution I can only take 9 before I must download. Told you it was an old one. HEE HEE

Below is a picture of the pot & moulds.

Hey Creeker is that Ballisticast mould mounted on RCBS handles? I didn't know they would fit. Are they different from the old H & G moulds? My only 4 cavity H & G that I have left has a diffrent set of handles and didn't know that they would work with anything else.....Wes

Those are RCBS handles. I have one set of BC handles which are great also. As far as the old H&G moulds I can't answer that question. I have only one old H&G mould which is a six cavity & it came with handles so I've not tried the RCBS handle on it.

Well then I look again and I think I see Saeco handles on the Lyman 4 cavity moulds is that correct? Looks like you modifiy a lot of your handles or they just seem to fit.....Wes
