im gonna try 28.5gr of imr4198 under a acww 405hb sized to .459 and lubed with BAC.Should be a nice mild shooter.

My Load is 24 grains of 2400 with the same bullet air cooled with WW lubed with Javelina lube though there is a bit of the older lyman lube still left mixed in the lubersizer. Mine also are sized .459. I only shot at 25 yards so far to get the scope sighted in but at that distance it was one ragged horizontal shaped hole.

What do yours weigh? Mine with WW weigh in about 395 grains.

40 grains of 3031. You can go quite a bit higher if you choose but I couldn't see any reason to get it there faster. You may need to feel around a bit to maximize accuracy.

Try some AA5744 with that boolit. You can expect good groups with milder recoil than with those other powders. Why, I've never been able to figure out. Whenever I've compared load for load (based upon the published data for velocity) I get groups that shoot to the same point of aim but with noticeably less kick.

I have used 29 gr 4198 with that boolit. Accuracy was ok. Not a wild load but not sure I would call it mild. It's all relative. My mild load is 16gr Unique and the RCBS 300gr with accuracy as good or better than the other load.

I too use 40 gr of 3031 behind a boolit cast of ww from an rcbs 405 gc. They weigh about 434 and vol. is 1550 to 1600 fps. It'll shoot al the way through a 8" hackberry tree or a good size whitetail end to end.

I would ask that in a new thread.
