what is the height of the benches at your range? Ours are about 30" high. I am over 6'4" tall and they seem real short to ME. Another member is in a wheel chair and thinks they are TOO high.? I was wondering if there is a standard height for the benches.

Precisely 31" and 13/16th.....

Dennis

(Just kidding...I don't know of any "standard" to go by)

The way we figured it, your bench height is NOT the point to key in on. The type and range height of your rests need to be taken into account also. And how level the land is around your bench. The height that is important is sitting, not standing. The idea is that you want to be fairly errect and NOT leaning into something so that your body takes all the recoil.

The one inside the building is 32. Outside one is 34". Then we use piano stools for chairs because they have the necessary range of adjustment.

A good comfortable portable adjustable seat is a drummers throne:

It's all done Dennis cept for a pillar bed job on the stock. A buddy's going to walk me through that when I get some time.

Just finished a 100 round copper breakin in smooth up, and it is shootin' real good, and cleans up quick. It's not even copper fouling in the least after 5 rounds. It would foul after one shot when I started. Found out it was indeed a new barrel.

Had Jones fit the Timney safety, and I put in a new trigger, plus polished the bolt. You wouldn't recognize it now..

Cool! We'll have to have a "rendevous" out at Hat Creek Range one day soon! (Or even my own "Shingletown Range"!)

Here is a link to plans that my brother posted on his website. He built one, I shot from it and it is pretty good.
