Any of you guys ever see one of these? It goes from 500-950 degrees. Opinions?

Maybe from an old print shop or newspaper for their linotype machine? It might be a bit more cumbersome than some of the current models but it should still work.

It's kind of cool lookin, at least in the pics. I just bought it off ebay but haven't got it yet.

Starting bid was 29.95. 39.50 buy it now shipped. Including Alaska which is where I am. I bought it for buy it now price.

If it doesn't work out for me I'll probably donate it to a local museum that has a linotype machine that used to belong to a guy I know who has a print shop. Or, just hang it on the wall for the "old time cool factor"

I'm guessing it will be considerably more accurate than the dial type we all use.

Oh, I'll bet it's accurate all right...........it's just mercury in a graduated glass tube. That is REALLY a cool tool and a great find!
