I have a 30-06 I made a swaged 163gr patch bullet. I then wrapped it two times to bring it up to exactly .310 dia.

I used 44gr of IMR 4064.

Would my velocity estimation of 2400-2500fps be off ?

looked like a confettie party after each shot.

I got two shots into an inch at 25 yds at point of aim. So at 25 yds where I was aiming is where the boolit holes appeared.

I then shot the next 5 shots at 100yds and failed to get any on the target. They all were hitting high, like 18 to 20" high.

Any likely reasons for this?

Help or suggestions are welcome.

Here is a pic of my patched boolit. I cut the tails flush before loading.

Blammer,
All of my patched loads fire higher than identical weight of jacketed. You got the same amount of windage I do.
I can only figuire, the patched load is more efficient.
With short tails like you have, why not just crush them down while sizeing?
They look good.
I prefer patched loads to jacketeds now. Cheaper, and print more accurately.

If your score is 1.5" above center of bore, zero about 2" LOW at 25yds. That will get you close at 100.

so 2400 or so FPS is not unrealistic or unreasonable to ask?

just curious as this is my first attempt at hi vel patched boolits.

Blammer,
I do not have a Chrono, but I suspect those speeds are attainable with control.

Like pdawg_shooter says!

Just a thought, those swaged boolits (good looking) are straight cylinder right? They would be a good candidate for dry patching. The trick is to twist the patched boolit between the thumb and forefinger with alternating hands. This gets the patch as tight as wet wrapping. It also developes the hand muscles! Try it with a tail skirt of just less than 1/8th ". The trick there is to slowly work the 'crimp' on the skirt until it's crimped flat with a small hole remaining. Depending on what paper you use, you should get a real neat patch base. (Printer paper may be too thick for you but it does give the desired tail 'crimp'). The drawback with dry wrapping for me is the need to use a small dab of glue on the tail corner of the patch (but only on the skirt). I don't really like the glue but for now it's convenient for me.

I've just tested a 'brand new' wet patching pad (some packing foam stuff) and it works so well I might abandon the dry patching!

Yes. According to QuickLOAD, that is about right on the MV and you are running ~38 Kpsi max pressure.

You might try a slower powder that will come closer to filling the case. I find the closer I get to 100% load density the better accuracy I get. IMR or H 4350 might be a good choice.
