Has anyone tried the four hole conversion on an old turret press ( for a LEE)? Do you need the auto index? I called LEE and the girl I spoke to wasn't sure and didn't offer to check with anyone.

I converted my old Lee turret to a four holer and really like the extra die station. Using .32 H&R dies, I added the factory crimp die. I use .314" sized bullets and this ensured that I have NO problems chambering those large bullets (was a problem untiL I started using the FCD). Further, I now seat and crimp separately (which I have done for years on my Dillon 550B).

The auto advance works just fine with a four holer.

ive converted a pro-1000 to a 4-hole AI that i only use for 45ACP and i really like it. like dale,i also use the fourth hole for an FCD.i use a hand primer.since ive found my favorite powder and bullet,i never have to adjust the dies or measure.i do however, still check my powder charge before starting and several times during a batch.other than that,i just put it on the bench and go to town.

When you phone, or write Lee c/s.

Direct it to: Dave Shono, he's the answer at Lee Precision.
Great fellow that knows all their products.

They actually make a conversion kit to do this. I would have to look to see the product number.
