dacron and dryer lint for me.
tried some sill plate material,i even tried toilet paper once.
pufflon and shotgun buffer show good promise too..
fillers work best with medium rate rifle powders [4895-3031 etc.]

On the dryer lint do you use cotton or polyester lint or all the above.

Does the lint burn or just blow thru like the dacron?

I am sold on BPI original buffer even though it cost me a King's ransom to get it to NZ.

For my purposes, Dacron seems to be about ideal. I like cotton wool because of its bore cleaning properties but I did manage to ignite some and I have heard of dry grass being set alight by cotton wool filler. Dacron on the other hand, just seems to disappear, so that's what I use. It holds the powder against the primer and has very little mass.

I use a veggie wad and Dacron filler. Works great, we checked all the puffs down range, no burnt anywhere.

If you need some I have more than Ill ever need. Ill send some out for shipping. PM me

Yes, I have. Don't use in in bottle neck cartridges it will slug up into a sold mass and stretch necks.

I prefer kapok. Compress as much as you can get in case, same applies for dacron.

I use Winchester Super Grex for my smokeless .45-120 loads using IMR 4895. It cleans the bore and leaves it super bright. Luckily, I bought all Widener's had in stock when I found out Winchester was going to stop offering it to the public, so I still have a few bottles on hand.

Hope this helps.

"Have any of you used wheat or oat bran for filler?"

Turk, Search our archives for grex, poly filler, and powdered bran (aka bf) as there's a great deal of information there.
