We're starting to accumulate quite a number of Chief Petty Officers here. Anyone for forming an unofficial Chief's Lounge? Maybe we could meet at an agreeable time to chat.

Regards,

Stew

If you look in your profile, you will find a place showing "Social Groups". That might be the place you want to be at. You just have to set it up.

I was going to suggest starting a Social group too, nothing to keep you from it either. The chat room isn't used much during the day, evening hours is pretty busy there.

Even in the evenings, side rooms can be opened in chat for your meetings. You can password protect them if you wish. I encourage you, or any other interest group to use this board feature.

Thanks for the tip. I'm at work now, so I'm kinda busy. I'll look into setting up something after a day or so when there's enough input to judge interest.

Stew,

Sounds good to me, I agree to see how many show interest and then decide.

Bruce OOps sorry L CDR Drake. But I have seen Ossifers talked to for mixing with the ENLISTED PERSONNEL. :bigsmyl2:

Good question. Another question would be , Is this discrimination?

Well, I've always kept an open door for my enlisted troops to see me. You get a straighter opinion that way sometimes.

The Navy has a long history of separation between the ranks but its a bit harder in the Army and the Marines to do that when everyone is sharing the same dust and dirt on the convoy.

I'll support the Chief's Mess but you've got a lot of senior Enlisted guys on the list from the other services as well.

Funny to think of the Cast Boolits forum as a Joint Duty location ;)

Bruce I think with the Grey Wolf project WE proved we are one big happy family who sometimes tease each other in fun.

WE could have an EM club, E7 club etc as I am sure there will be many sea stories that will be remembered  :bigsmyl2:and can also be posted in HUMOR AND OFF TOPIC for the rest of the family to chuckle over.

Yes I think there is a hugh separation in the Navy. After 50 years it may have changed, You tell me.

I was a Marine so my Navy experiences are a bit biased :bigsmyl2:

I like all the services (well, the Coast Guard and Air Force sometimes gets me to scratch my head) because I've worked Jointly for about 10 of my 20 years so hybrid is a term I like for my years of service.

I do like reading sea stories in the Humor section.

I've been in a lot of senior enlisted clubs around, but for a title of "best run, best organized, cleanest, best prices and best personal conduct required". I have to nominate the USMC Staff NCO Club in Subic Bay. I never found a Chiefs Club or Top Four club anywhere that could top that Staff Club.
MMCS, USN Ret.
Can we model the new one on it???

Since the "War on Drugs" kicked into high gear, the "Wade Ashore Yacht Club" kids are earning their pay. Obviously, that's no reason to quit ragging on them about the wading pool... :bigsmyl2: :kidding:

My understanding was that you have to be at least 6 feet tall to enlist in the USCG. If your boat sinks, you can wade ashore. :kidding: :kidding:

20+ years ago I told that to a couple of Coasties when we were taking fire fighting training at Treasure Island. Cracked them up! I couldn't believe they'd never heard it before.
