I am wondering if anyone has tried this Lyman Mold #319347 (165 gr) flat base in a .303 British ?
I have a .303 with a groove dia. of .317 and Im thinking that this mold might be just the ticket for such an oversized groove dia.

thanks

Sounds like just the ticket though I have found 200gr + bullets give the best results in the old Colonial warhouse.

atr, I had the same idea a while back. In looking at my records just now I found that I only ever tried it in one SMLE and that one load was with too soft an alloy. Something that may be of value to you is that the base was below the neck when the front band was seated out as far as possible. This with bullets sized .318 for a .316" groove rifle.

There may be a way around that--nose firsting just the front band or two but you may not want to go to that much trouble. It isn't an ideal set up as is.

OK,,,,
I got 50 of these Lyman Mold #319347 (165 gr) flat base
they cast as 0.321....I am going to use them AS CAST at 0.321 in a barrel which slugs at 0.317....I will post the results...wish me luck

I am open to suggestions with respect to powders and charge.....I Know I will try 16 gr of 2400 and probably 10 gr of Unique...
I will also try 4895...other suggestions?
