I have about 450 cast 45 RN's in a empty platic container my question is will it be safe for them to be storted this way with that many bullets in the jar with all the weight on top of the bullets bearing down on the bullets near the bottom, any chance they could get deformed or the base edges becoming dull??

I store mine the same way. I use used containers and anything else that I find. You should have no problems.

I think not.

A 40 gallon garbage can?? Well maybe. A bulk licorice container like you have, no.

I had a gallon size container about 90% full. I'm at the bottom now and just to be sure from reading this, I checked. Boolits still measure .358, and no distortion on them.

I use just about anything that I can stack, old Berry's bullet boxes, Midway bullet boxes or cardboard mailing boxes can be bought in all kinds of sizes for as little as 20c each.

After about 6 months they will develop bullet mould and will need to be sent to me for cleaning.

Actually if they sit that way for more than a hundred years the bottom most bullets wight be deformed as much as a thousand or so.

Think of it this way. If you had an ingot of lead the size of your jar would the bottom become flatter or mashed out over time? Not unless you dropped it.
