Here's a little help......

fired in my Remington 700 BDL

7MM Rem. magnum
175 gr. Hornady SP
77 gr. WC860
CCI 250 primer
Avg. velocity 2650 fps.

WC 860 is too slow burning if you're looking for factory load velocities.

I used this same bullet and primer in front of 82 gr. of T-5020 for 2750 fps. That's a tamped full case!

HI,
I can't believe noone loads for belted magnums.
Oh yeah what what about 375 ultra mag loads?

..............Could be possibly that those that have the mags either load down for cast and maybe use some surplus for that, and for full effort jacketed stuff use canister powders and not surplus?

As 454PB said, they'd a tad slow for some. Even though there are several surplus numbers out there, compared to all the canister grade propellants marketed, the surplus list has holes in it large enough to pass an 18 wheeler sideways!

His data with the 7mm mag pretty much parallels mine in the 7x57:

7 mag
77.0grs WC860, 175 Hornady 2650 fps

7x57
60.0grs WC860, 172gr RCBS 7mm-168, 2450 fps (and that's a 29" bbl).

Boom-boom; lots of 860 can be very different in burn speed, as with all non-canister powders. The lot I have is faster than most of the data I see here, 77 grs and a 175 will stick the handle down real good on an 80 degree day with my lot. You need to work up loads for you rifle and your lot of WC860, it could be faster yet, it is also very temp sen.

7mm Rem mag
175 speer magtip-74.0 grs wc860=2702 fps-11ES@38deg
160 speer magtip-74.0 gr WC860=2744 fps-13ES@38 deg

for comparison
175 gr WIN FActory ammo#X7mmR2= 2761-47ES (loaded w/66.0 grs of unknown ball powder) 79 deg F
160 gr Sierra spBT-66.0 gr H4831SC=3005fpsES11@71 deg 3.260OAL
175 Nos part-77.0 H870-2887 fps@87 deg- this is over at this temp but fine at 40 deg Scot

HI,
I can't believe noone loads for belted magnums.

I've loaded for Win mags for years. But with H-4831, H-450, IMR 4350 etc....
Most folks just don't use reclaimed powder I guess.....

FWIW,
