Now that my local source had to go out of business, I'm looking for a good online source to buy targets.

Right above the sponsered links at the top of this page are "General, Cast Boolits and Reloaders Forum". The General section has a lot of printable targets.

Me?

I am so cheap I picked up a big stack of card stock paper at either Wally World or OfficeMax.

Then at Wally World they sell this flourescent orange and flourescent green rolls of duct tape.

I will just tear off a square of duct tape and stick that in the center of the 8.5 X 11 inch sheet of card stock. Then I will go staple that up on the target stand.

I use the flourescent day glow green tape for when I am sighting in a red dot scope. It is easier to see the green around the fuzziness or halo of the red dot.

For the targets that I want to keep, I will just three hole punch them and put them in my reloading 3 ring binder. I put that target behind the load and chrono sheet for that particular handload. I have the 3 ring binder sectioned off into .22LR, 9mm, .40, .45 ACP, .223, and .30-06 .

Anybody else, but me, find that those white paper floor mats they put in your vehicle at a dealership make a super target on the backside of them?Robert

Here's an extensive site that runs for pages, printer targets: http://glockfaq.com/targets.htm

If you have a desk calendar, then when the month is over, tear that sheet off and then use the backside as a target.

For sighting in purposes, I have a big, huge roll of brown craft paper. It is either 30 inches or 36 inches wide.

Before I go to the range, I will cut off a couple of square-ish pieces from that roll.

I think I got the roll at Home Depot from the paint or masking tape section of the store.

It also works well for those times when I want to pattern a shotgun.

The inside of beer cartons, used shipping boxes, printable targets. I save just about every cardboard box that stuff comes in, cut it up into desired dimensions and stash it in the shop. I either use a magic marker or I have a couple boxes of those fluorescent stick on dots that I acquired somewhere. Works better for me than paying for targets.

My former employer(before I retired) uses large quantities of tan kraft paper. The narrowest roll used is about 4 ft. They are no longer usable when the roll gets too small to complete the next product run so it is removed and put in the recycle bin. Those rolls contain enough paper that, when cut into smaller pcs, could possibly be used as targets. Especially if some of the ideas in this thread were incorporated. This paper is somewhat stiffer than regular copy paper.

Has anyone ever tried "non-white" targets?

The best target backing are the corrugated plastic signs that election campaigns use for lawn signs. Collect all you can after an election.

Depending on the candidate, collect all you can before the election!

Just.

Kidding!

That would be a rather satisfying use of something that is otherwise obnoxious.

6mmBR.com has targets that you can downkoad and print yourself. They have quite a selection, probably more than 50 to choose from. They even have scope evaluation targets.
