I have a Lee 6 banger mold .230 RN for .45 ACP & even with a 40/1 mix with a BHN of 6/7 its dropping Boolits at .4544-.4546 my barrel on my 1911 slugs at .4513 I've got around a .0033 avg or .00165 per side. How much oversize is to much? if I change my recipe to something harder I should get less shrinkage and an even larger boolit.
I'm using Federal cases and they check at .0075 per side for .015 + .4545 is .4695 so I'm not sizing them down with my crimp. C.O.L. is 1.200 so they chamber fine. I loaded them up with 4.8grn of titegroup so my concern is raising pressure's in the gun.
I don't have a sizer yet to trim them down. Any thought's?

I think you're over thinking it.

As long as they feed and fire I'll bet they'll be just fine.

If they chamber, fire them. You are not getting any failure to go in battery are you? With that soft of boolit you should have no problems sqwishing them down when fired. Might actually shoot good.

As long as the bullet does not shave lead on seating and the rounds chamber you might be OK. Lyman said not to size a bullet down more than .003" as accuracy can be affected. Sizing in the barrel or die would apply here. If you want to hit a pie plate at 10 yds, your ok. For Bullseye, 3" at 50 yds, you will need to make changes in moulds.

If they'll chamber they're fine.

Thanks, Ya I may be over thinking it a little but...new to reloading and I know that steel on steel interference fit of .0003 requires a press to put em together. I know we are talking lead but just wanting to come home from the range with the same number of digits I had when I got their.
Maybe spent to long looking at those pics on the muzzleloading thread, wow that's gotta hurt. I guess I should not have any problem sealing the bore should be a no leading Boolit.
