Lee sizer die

I have a lee sizer die and it says .452 and when i size a bullet through it it comes out .450 is that right im sizeing a 300 lee 45 cal. If i drop a bullet through my ruger 454 cylinder it drops right through but if i drop it in my ruger blackhawk 45lc it dosent drop through. Any thoughts?

First thing to double check is your caliper or micrometer. Measure some jacketed bullets of known size and quality and report back.

What size was the boolit BEFORE you sized it? Could it be it was cast at .450?

funny my 452 sizer is spot on 452 after squishin them through

but my 356 sizer shrunk my boolits down to .353

after about 30 minutes with some 600 grit wrapped around a cleaning brush and a drill it was extruding .355 i figured i should just stop there cause if i wanted a 357 sizer i would have bought one

i mesured a 22 cal 69 gr match at 223.5, a 10 mm 180xtp at .399.5, a speer 145 bt at 283.5 and a horn 300 gr 375 at374.5 so it look like it my caliper. its cabellas brand dose any one recomend one that is better? thanks

A micrometer is the tool you need for accurate measuring.

Simple answer is --NO-- But Like it has been said you must trust the instrument you use to do the measuring. If it should be .452 and it's .450 well it's not hard to see something is wrong.

Measure the boolit before sizing and after sizing to get the difference. You may have a bad sizer. I have opened them up before to get the size I want. It takes about 30 min to do right. Polish a little, clean, run a slug through. repeat. use a new slug each time. You can always take off more, but it's hard to put it back on.

You need to measure the cylinders of both guns and may need to size for each one. Or just make it big enough for the biggest chamber.
