I have a new Ruger Old Army on it's way to me. I have shot C&B pistols in the past but was wondering with the newfangled powders if anyone who has shot a ROA had a preference.

I have shot alot of Pyrodex but it has never been very accurate in my guns. I am not looking to magnumize the ROA I have too many BIG bores to see a need for that. I am more interested in accuracy loadings but don't want to have to add a filler over the powder. I know for the purists out there Holy Black is always the first choice but in Hawaii I can get snow more readily than I can get Black and what few pounds I have are dedicated to keep my flinchlocks working.

Thanks in advance for your replies.

bh209 will not work in your revolver. It requires a 209 primer to set it off.

American Pioneer 3f would be a great choice. T7 3f should work good as well but it does product hard crud.
