I recently bought the mold from Vly. Thanks, Vly. The boolit is similar to the Ly 358156. I shot today with 8.0/AA#5 measured with a Lee dipper, hornady GC, Alox/Bees Wax 50/50, Starline .357 brass, and CCI SP primer in an older S&W 13-2. At 15 yds it is real easy minute of pop can - danced it all over the place - what fun. I'll load some more and put on paper at 25 yards just for grins. In all the years I have been hand loading, this is the first time I have used #5. It's a fairly new 1# jar bought on a close out from a local gun shop (that I will really miss - Lash's Gun Emporium in Tulsa). This load is really clean, too.

Anyone else use #5?

oh, btw, have I ever mentioned that I like RCBS molds? Prolly not, but this one just further convinces me.

I use #5 by the large jug, not the 1 lb. jar! I use it in everything from a .32 auto up to and including .44 mag. and .45 LC. My 9mm and ACP pistols work great with it as does my .38/357 pistols. It meters like a charm and is very consistent.Robert

I've heard lots of praise about Accurate #5, but sadly it is almost impossible to find in my area. What are comparable powders? Is AA-5 in the Unique/Universal burn rate range?

Sundog, I have to agree with you on the quality of RCBS molds. I have a 38-150-SWC and a 44-250-K, and they both make excellent boolits. The 38-150-SWC has proved very accurate in my S&W 686.

Just came in from casting another 6-8 lbs of this boolit -- Felix, you up to shooting some of these? Huh?

Thanks for the replys on #5. Might have to try it in some other stuff.
