Pot ?

I have a Lee 4-20 bottom pour pot. When done casting is it nesasary to empty all the lesd out of the pot? Will it hurt anything to leave a little in the pot?

I believe that Lee recommends it. I usually empty mine in case I want to change alloys next casting session.

I never empty mine, I top it off to make sure it is full before shutting down.

It heats up faster when you leave it full. Also since mine sits in the garage I spray it with Birch Casey brand Sheath to keep it from rusting. It just smokes a little when reheated. Won't hurt a thing.

Because I only cast with 30:1 alloy I always top it off with the sprew cuttings and ingots.

I top it off and leave it full.
