Tapco currently has clips for the Garand, at 39 cents each. Pretty good deal. You may want to load up.

No, they are not USGI, ad states they are new manufacture. Probably Chinese like everything else these days. Hope these Garand clips work better than Tapco's Mosin stripper clips, those were a complete waste of time.

If they are the Chinese clips, just be advised that many of the service rifle sites have a bundle of posts about malfunctions in rifles that function perfectly with US GI clips.

I guess I'm spoiled: I never had to *buy* clips.

There is a company in california that makes clips, AEC or something, they make them to milspec. gibrass.com sells these clips, if you buy 100, they are 50 cents each from gibrass. That's where I got mine, was thinking of getting some more if that's what TAPCO had since it was a good price, but I will pass if they are not US>

Our club has a weekly Garand/Vintage military match on Monday evenings. Its a 50(+5 sighters) match. The club sells the 56 rounds for $10 and it comes in the Garand clips. The story I got was they recieved a semi truck load from the then DCM many years ago, but we are getting to the end. It comes in the clips, in bandelares, in the ammo cans. The stuff we are shooting right now is LC68. I have about a bushel of clips, getting 7more clips every Monday. We are all keeping them with the idea that sooner or later the ammo isnt going to come in clips and new shooters are going to need them. I also got about a bushel of brass, I just cant seem to part with it, my reloads shoot better, but for the price its not worth the touble or time. I've got lots of other stuff to reload for.

I recently got a Field grad M1 from CMP and as I expected the barrel to be well warn and I needed clips I ordered a can of Korean M2 ball ammo from Sportsmans guide. The Ammo is corrosive but for $50 I got a 30 cal can, 35 M1 clips and loaded ammo. I shot it all up in one trip to the range with my M1 and cleaned it completely afterwards. To me this was a cheap way to get clips and brass to load. I now have reloaded the brass with both jacketed and cast bullets with good success and no feeding problems with either the clips or ammo.

My brother shot at Camp Perry for a few years and stocked me up well with brass, clips and ammo. Boy ..... do I love him. Of course .... I still give him a lot of cast bullets and reload his 45's on my Dillon 550. I guess thats what brothers are for.
