Just bought me a new Lyman 311008 bullet mold. I sure like how it looks and I am hoping that it'll work nicely in my Ruger .30 Carbine revolver. I had been using the Lyman 130 RN 311410 bullet, but always wanted a SWC style for the pistol. If it works like I think that it will, I may use it more than my .38 Spec.

It'll werk very well. Do a search on the article by Beagle on cast pics-at the bottom of the page...under articles by members. He did major workup with that bullet and suggests several loadings complete with results. LLS

The 311008 shoots just fine in my .30 Carbine RBH, just so long as I keep the velocity down below about 1450 fps or so. Groups open up quickly above that in my gun. At 1400 fps it shoots just peachy, and does a fine job on vermin.

IMO, it's the best bullet in a .30 Carbine......either the carbine or the Ruger. You have to bump the nose round slightly for it to feed in the carbine but It's good as is for the pistol. Have one of the guys HP it and it will be even better./beagle
