What's a reasonable price for a nice unfired one? 1970's import. Very good finish, un mashed nipples, no box, but has the Lyman .44 powder flask, a capper and used Lee 450-200 1R mould with it...

I may be able to post pics later tonight.

Hellgate's estimate seems reasonable to me. I remember when the Italian C&B revolvers were much cheaper back in the day, but so were alot of other things, I suppose. I just bought a very slightly used Uberti 1860 Colt with fluted cylinder (no box) and felt I got a decent deal, though not a great one. If the condition is good (and I assume you are looking for a shooter, not a display item), then $125-$200 is about right. You might even find one for less if the seller is not aware of current prices and sells according to what was paid for it back in the day!

You can buy brand new Uberti 1860 Colts for retail $340.00:

so, put the value at roughly half. And I sure would not hesitate to shoot it. Tons of fun!

OK, I'm back at the "arms locker" now, and it's NOT AN UBERTI. It's an Armi San Paolo Lyman new army .44, the gun is blued steel frame with brass trigger guard and color case hardened hammer. The powder flask and capper are very similar to those in this picture, I'll try to get a pic of my gun up next (pics of my capper, mould and flask will have to come later)

Better pictures. I need to set up a light box for gun pictures... These still aren't too hot.

And a gallon of regular gas cost around $.36, a loaf of bread was under $1.00, and a cheap new car under $4,000.00? And my after school minimum wage job spaid $2.10/hour...

What did GOEX 3FG black powder cost back then? I didn't buy my first can for a couple more years.

I don't believe Goex existed back then. Dupont was the stuff, before they blew up...Ray

I still have a can of Dupont 3F that was bought in the early 1970s and the price tag says $3.49

One of my early pyrotechny teachers has a coupe of metal kegs of Dupont "A" blasting powder in the back of his magazine for old time's sake. He's never going to open them, let alone use 'em-

Anyhow, I guess I should move this over to swappin' and sellin' before I talk myself into shooting this one and get addicted. Thanks for the input guys!

I remember using Curtis&Harvey black powder back then, it's just what was available in my area.
